There the Coalition of Higher Education Students in Scotland uses CHESS as their acronym.

Formed in 2002, CHESS is an umbrella organisation of six Scottish university student associations, which aims to represent the views of some 100,000 students at national political assemblies such as the Scottish parliament at Holyrood and the British parliament at Westminster.
