The England chess pieces are made from stone, marble powder glued together with resin. The folding chess board is inlaid with mahogany and sycamore wood. The folding chess board has an insert tray for the chess pieces storage inside. Decorative metal clasps keep the board securely locked after play.
Over the centuries, there have been many battles between England and Scotland and two figures that stand out in this history are William Wallace – Guardian of Scotland and Edward I – King of England. We are currently uncertain as to which historical persons are portrayed by these lovely chess pieces, so we will base them on these two historical figures. With the exception that the English are usually donned in traditional red garments.
The English Medieval style pieces are hand painted and a great decorative set.
Please note that as these pieces are hand painted, there may be some inconsistencies in the level of detail and colour and therefore your pieces may be very slightly different from the images shown. Any inconsistencies however are minimal.
