The Large Castle chess set is the largest from our range of the Castle chess. An inlaid mahogany/sycamore chess board, fully hand crafted and slightly weighted pieces made from lime wood. The folding chess board has an insert tray for the chess pieces storage.
Board is hand-decorated with a technique called INTARSJA – that is an old form of wood inlaying, start of that technique dates before the seventh century.
Thanks to this method, chess has a unique appearance and smooth board surface.
The folding chessboard is made of mahogany and sycamore wood mainly of beech wood, on the side of the board there are two metal locks in gold colour. In the middle of the half-folded board there is a liner covered with a green velour coating to store the pieces.

De afwerking en kwaliteit van dit schaakspel is erg mooi. Het is handgemaakt daardoor is het redelijk geprijsd, en stevig opgeborgen in de opvouwbare kartonnen doos. Gekocht op de Kerstmarkt in Valkenburg.

Nachdem ich mich entschlossen hatte, wieder Schach zu spielen, suchte ich nach einem Qualitätsset, das weder aufwändig im Design noch extravagant im Preis war. Dieses Schachspiel erfüllt die Rechnung perfekt für mich. Schön konstruiert, mit klassisch gestalteten Schachfiguren und einer soliden, aber nicht zu schweren zusammenklappbaren Schachbrett- / Aufbewahrungsbox. Der Lieferant bietet auch Ersatzspielsteine an, falls diese verloren gehen oder beschädigt werden.
