The medium King’s chess set is the medium King chess set from the range of our standard King’s chess sets. The pieces have been turned from solid sycamore with felt bottoms and stained to create a very classic look. Decorated through a traditional technique of burning patterns and designs into the wood. Finished with a fine polish, single weighted and with felted bases, they sit proudly on our beech and birch chessboard.
Number and letter algebraic coordinates adorn the borders. Algebraic notation (or AN) is the standard method for recording and describing the moves in a game of chess. It is based on a system of coordinates to uniquely identify each square on the chessboard.
It has been equipped with an insert tray for the chess pieces. Decorative metal clasps keep the board securely locked after play.

The wooden storage box which doubles as the chess board is carved and stained- very nice. The chess pieces nestle into the storage slots inside. It is perfect for the first set for my grandson. The pieces are interesting shapes, capturing his interest. Thank you.
