The Royal Maxi chess set is one of the most popular sets from our decorative range. Thanks to its size this set can be considered as a travel set as well. These lovely hand-crafted pieces are made from hornbeam and beech wood. The burned folding chess board is not heavy and has a nice red insert tray for the chess pieces storage inside. Decorative metal clasps keep the board securely locked after play.
Those wanting a decent size, usable, light weighted travel set of acceptable quality for a very reasonable price could do far worse than buy this set. The fact that the board is wooden, folds(great for storage), and has tailored spaces to house the pieces when travelling is enough to recommend it. All round excellent value for a starter / travel set.

Het schaakbord is stevig, heeft een comfortabel speelformaat en gemakkelijk op te bergen; we vinden het handig dat de stukken opgeborgen kunnen worden in het schaakspel zelf als ze niet in gebruik zijn. De natuurlijke houttinten in het bord en de speelstukken zijn zoals afgebeeld. De speelstukken hebben een goede hoogte, maar zijn licht van gewicht. Over het algemeen tevreden en zou het opnieuw kopen.

Wirklich sehr schön verarbeitet! Habe schon ganz andere Schachkassetten bekommen, die nicht halb so schön waren und das für den Preis. Der Verschluss sowie die aufgedruckten Buchstaben und Zahlen sind ordentlich in einer Reihe und nicht verschoben. Die Figuren sind sehr schön und alles riecht auch schön nach Holz und Lasur!

The pieces are organized nicely inside the board when it is folded for transport or storage. The felt on the bottom of the pieces is a nice touch. I am happy to have such a nice board that I can take anywhere.
